Jessica and Matthew’s wedding was very special. They are an adorable couple who were beaming with excitement and joy all day long! There was a purity of love between them that was infectious and everyone who participated was blessed to be a witness. As their photographer, I had to wipe away a tear here and there, as I too got caught up in the emotion of the day. It was a wedding that I will never forget.
The day began for me at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club where Jessica and the girls were getting ready. They were just finishing up hair and makeup when I arrived and sitting down for lunch. I had never met Jessica or Matthew in person, so this was to be our first meeting. As I said above, she was beaming with excitement and ready to put on the dress that her mother, Debbie, had made. In fact all the dresses and tuxedos, of the entire wedding party and then some, were made by Debbie’s own Saint Claire Shores shop, Grazi Custom Clothiers. You can see for yourself, the wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, mothers’ dresses, and tuxedos were made to perfection! One of our highlight photos was having Jessica spin in a circle in the beautiful rotunda room at the club to show off her beautiful dress. You can see it below.
David Yarnall, my second photographer, met up with Matthew and the guys for getting ready photos before getting into the limo and heading off to the their local church, Our Lady Star of the Sea, for the ceremony. The ceremony was traditional, yet meaningful. I saw many tears being wiped away from guests’ faces! There even was a surprise visit – at least to me – by NBA legend and Hall of Famer, Isaiah Thomas. You can see a great photo below of Matt greeting him with Jessica laughing in the background! After the ceremony, the entire wedding party was given the privilege to have their portraits made at a family friend’s luxurious home right on Lake Saint Clair. The setting could not have been more idyllic and the day was perfect for the occasion. Check out the highlight slideshow >>>>HERE<<<< to see some of these photos and the unfolding story of the entire day!
We all arrived back at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club for cocktail hour and to celebrate the nuptials of Jessica and Matthew. The dining room was exquisitely decorated and grand. One of Metro Detroit’s great talents, Stacey Mason, entertained the guests with her violin and emceed the formal events of the evening. She can be seen throughout the photos as she was even involved with leading worship singing during the ceremony. As a member of the exceptional Jerry Ross Band, she and the band kept the guests on the dance floor the whole night through!
I would be remiss to not mention all the great vendors involved. Here is a list of the all-star cast:
WEDDING PLANNER – Kathy Byrum, Dream Wedding & Event Planner
HAIR/MAKE UP – Mariann Denbaas
FLORAL: VIVIANO’S FLORIST
CAKE: CHRISTINE’S CAKES & PASTRIES

As I said above, it was a wonderful and memorable day! Enough of my description! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves! Enjoy!
