Kim and Allen’s day began about as perfect as a wedding day could!!! Kim began with her ladies at Todd’s Room in Birmingham…. (THE place for flawless makeup and hair!) While the ladies were all primping and fussing about, our second photographer, David Yarnall was photographing Allen and the gentlemen getting ready at the Troy Marriott, with a toast to send off the groom!
Ray followed the bridal party to her parent’s house in Farmington Hills, where the girls finished their looks…and Kim shared some special moments with her parents. Then the ladies boarded the party bus bound for The Most Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, where the marriage ceremony was to be held. Kim got in to her stunning gown in the Cathedral’s bridal suite. Both Ray and his apprentice photographer, Nicole, got stunning shots not only of Kim and the ladies, but also the details of her intricate dress, jewelry, and shoes.
In the meantime, Allen and his groomsmen arrived safely and stayed out of sight in the Sacristy with the priests. Precautions were taken to ensure the bride and groom did not cross paths in anticipation of the first moment that Allen would see his beautiful bride walk down the aisle with her father….. and let us be the first to say, that moment was well worth the wait!!!! Kim looked absolutely STUNNING as she came down the aisle to meet Allen.
After a personal and touching ceremony, and a few portraits on the alter~ The party had officially started! The party bus was ROCKING ( I saw this personally, as I was following in my car as Ray was capturing shots on the bus) So much FUN was had by all, as you can clearly see from the photo!
As everyone began to congregate at the beautiful Orchard Lake Country Club, we were able to capture a few more family photos as well as some more of the bridal party….Ray got some amazing ones of Kim and Allen by the lake…. After a lively cocktail hour, the guests were seated for dinner. A few heartfelt toasts followed, and the couple cut their wedding cake and began the festivities after a fabulous dinner. A sweet father/daughter dance was followed by mother/son…. (an even cooler mother /son dance happened later with a Bon Jovi song!!) The couple also rounded out the evening with the lighting of cool “wish” lanterns that they sent off in to the night sky!!!
A fantastic wedding with a fantastic couple!!! We wish them the best in their lives as newlyweds and always!!!! What an honor to be chosen to document their day!!!
