We only want to capture your story, not recreate photos from previous weddings or other photographers.

David Yarnall has been my “sidekick” and second photographer since 2009. He has been involved in almost every wedding we’ve photographed since then! His role is expanding with us and he is now available to accept wedding commissions as our lead associate photographer.
When David first began working with us, he was already an accomplished portrait and wedding photographer. He joined our team, eager to learn more about photographing weddings in a documentary style. Each and every year, David has amazed us with images that are intuitive, emotional, and impactful. We are very grateful to have him with us! You can see examples of his work below. We are excited to offer his talents to potential couples looking for the story of their day to be captured in our documentary approach.
Karen is a God-send! We first met her in April of 2016 when we were interviewing for a new apprentice photographer to join our team. She had recently earned a photography degree from Mott College and impressed us with her portfolio. Karen has a sensitive eye and a talent for finding moments that capture the emotion and the joy of the day.
Within two years of photographing weddings with us, she quickly stepped into the role as Associate Photographer. Karen is also our Post-Production Manager. She oversees the post-wedding workflow of all the images captured by our team and is the first point of contact to our couples through the final delivery of their wedding photographs.
Jack began photographing weddings professionally when he was 18 years old. Like most wedding pros, he got his start working with an established photography studio back in the “film days.” That says a lot!
You know you’re in capable hands when your wedding photographer cut his teeth on making professional images without the luxury of seeing the instant image on the back of the camera, and not knowing what he captured until the prints returned from the lab a week later!
Since then, Jack joined the digital era (like the rest of us!) and branched out into his own business photographing weddings, high school senior portraits and portfolio head shots. He began filling in for us in 2014 as we had need and has now become a permanent member of our team!
Nicole joined our team in 2012. She was seeking an apprenticeship and we were in need of an assistant, so the timing was perfect! Nicole grew up with a love for photography and the visual arts. She is one of those people who just have “it!”
She has a natural eye for finding beauty and emotion. In 2016, she stepped into the role of associate photographer and photographs weddings with us as a second photographer!
Alex became Ray’s apprentice photographer/assistant in 2021. After one full season of weddings, she has shown incredible growth and promise of becoming an aspiring documentary wedding photographer and is a wonderful addition to our team!
Alexandra began photography in high school and fell in love with the language of light. In any free time that she had, she was out taking photos and capturing moments. She went on to study at Central Michigan University receiving a degree in Photojournalism and Multi Media Media Design. During her time in college, her work was recognized through various awards, scholarships, and exhibitions. Most notably, she was named Journalism Scholar of the Year, had her work displayed at the Central Michigan University Art Gallery, and had her work published in CMLife.
Capturing the perfect moments that would tell a story in a photograph was something she strived for. Having photographed a few weddings in college, she realized they were her favorite story to tell.
